Overview of Periodic Monthly Statement (PMS) program

The Periodic Monthly Statement (PMS) program is a feature offered to US based Importers by US Customs and Border Protection (CBP). Through the PMS program, your company can take advantage better cash flow terms and forecasting.

Under the PMS program, an importer pays duties directly to CBP on the 15th business day of the month (usually around the 20th calendar day) following the month in which your goods were released by Customs. This means that merchandise released on the first to the last day of the month are scheduled for duty payment on the following month’s Periodic Monthly Statement, giving an importer between at least 20-day terms and up to 55-day terms - depending on when an entry is released during a month.

If you choose to sign up for PMS, your company will no longer need to process Duty and Tax payments to Customs per shipment on a transactional basis.
